چکیده

Broadcasting is a process in which an individual has an item of information which needs to be transmitted to all of the members in a network (which is viewed as a connected graph). -broadcasting is a variant of broadcasting in which each processor can transmit the message to up to of its neighbors in one time unit. Another variant of broadcasting is the concept of m-time-relaxed broadcasting, where we allow adding time units to the optimal broadcast time, in exchange for fewer edges. The combination of -time-relaxed and broadcasting is studied in this paper. The result shown here is an improvement in the upper bound obtained by Harutyunyan and Listman in [9] that constructs a communication network model, namely, a connected graph, which admits the -time-relaxed -broadcasting. In addition, we generalize (for ) and prove a conjecture of Shastri [18] concerning the monotonicity of such -time-relaxed models with respect to (the number of vertices in this graph).

Binary linear programming models for robust broadcasting in communication networks

Broadcasting is an information dissemination process in communication networks whereby a message, originated at any node of a network, is transmitted to all other nodes of the network. In c-broadcasting, each node having the message completes up to c transmissions to its neighbors over the communication lines in one time unit. In a kfault tolerant c-broadcast network, the broadcasting process c...

Deterministic Broadcasting and Gossiping with Beeps

Broadcasting and gossiping are fundamental communication tasks in networks. In broadcasting, one node of a network has a message that must be learned by all other nodes. In gossiping, every node has a (possibly different) message, and all messages must be learned by all nodes. We study these well-researched tasks in a very weak communication model, called the beeping model. Communication procee...

Centrality and Spectral Radius in Dynamic Communication Networks

We explore the influence of the choice of attenuation factor on Katz centrality indices for evolving communication networks. For given snapshots of a network observed over a period of time, recently developed communicability indices aim to identify best broadcasters and listeners in the network. In this article, we looked into the sensitivity of communicability indices on the attenuation factor...

A New Lower Bound for Completion Time Distribution Function of Stochastic PERT Networks

In this paper, a new method for developing a lower bound on exact completion time distribution function of stochastic PERT networks is provided that is based on simplifying the structure of this type of network. The designed mechanism simplifies network structure by arc duplication so that network distribution function can be calculated only with convolution and multiplication. The selection of...

Time of Radio Broadcasting: Adaptiveness vs. Obliviousness and Randomization vs. Determinism

We consider the time of broadcasting in ad hoc radio networks modeled as undirected graphs. In such networks, every node knows only its own label and a linear bound on the number of nodes but is unaware of the topology of the network, or even of its own neighborhood. Our aim is to study to what extent the availability of two important characteristics of a broadcasting algorithm influences optim...
